Aberdeen students launch latest edition of law review

Law students at Aberdeen University last night launched volume 8 of the Aberdeen Student Law Review, sponsored by Stronachs LLP and Dentons.Editors-in-chief Ezgi Ediboğlu and Kieran Buxton discussed the road to publication while some of the contributors discussed their articles.

Katie Thomson presented on her article about corporate governance in the banking sector, looking at the role of shareholders, the stewardship code, and the limits of private law and financial regulation.

Rachael Bain, who won the sponsors’ prize, discussed her paper entitled “Jury Directions under the Abusive Behaviour and Sexual Harm (Scotland) Act 2016: A Long-Needed Success for Tackling Rape Myths or Another Measure Falling Short?”, which looked at the law in Scotland and perceptions and a comparison with the position in Victoria, Australia.
