Addleshaw Goddard set to explore Scottish business tech trends

Addleshaw Goddard has partnered with University of Strathclyde’s Fraser of Allander Institute to explore digital and technology trends within the Scottish business community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

An upcoming report, due to be published on 1 October, is a continuation of the report published by the collaboration in July.

Results were drawn from a survey conducted with more than 500 businesses across Scotland and revealed the challenges, their concerns and their predictions throughout the pandemic.

The survey showed that, as a result of the pandemic, the majority of Scottish businesses adapted and accelerated the tech and digital operations and the latest report will show how this change is expected to impact the industry and the wider economy.

Ahead of the launch of the report, a preview of the report findings will be discussed during an interactive webinar hosted by Addleshaw Goddard on 30 September 2020 at 3pm.

The webinar will feature comments from partners at Addleshaw Goddard alongside guest speakers Stephen Ingledew, CEO at Fintech Scotland, and Mairi Spowage, deputy director at Fraser of Allander Institute.

David Anderson, corporate partner at Addleshaw Goddard, said: “The acceleration of tech and digital innovations throughout the pandemic has been seismic and we now need to consider how this change will impact the economy and society on a longer term basis.

“The report and supporting event will highlight the diverse changes made across a swathe of sectors within Scotland, as well as analyse how this impacts business models and what it means for organisations and consumers going forward.

“We encourage anyone in the Scottish business community to join the event next Wednesday as we delve into what this change looks like in real terms and how we prepare for the future collectively.”

The event is free to attend and registration can be found here.
