The Union of France Oenologists has written to the French prime minister to ask for wine tasters to move up the vaccination queue, The Telegraph reports.

Officials said a survey of its members showed that those who recovered from Covid-19 still struggled with their sense of smell afterwards, making them unable to work.

Union chief Didier Fages said: “It’s like asking a musician to play without his instrument.”
