And finally… shell shock

A tourist was charged and fined after she brought an unexploded World War Two shell to Vienna airport.

The 24-year-old found the munition while out walking in the Dachstein mountains, police in Lower Austria said.

She held on to the shell as a souvenir and declared it to customs officials at the airport, who immediately contacted police.

A bomb disposal unit arrived at the scene to remove the unexploded ordnance, while areas of the airport were closed for about 15 minutes.

The woman was charged with public endangerment through negligence and was given a four-figure fine.
