Blackadders has appointed a new head of residential property to its Glasgow office.

Karen Fulton joins the firm as a partner to take up the role and will be responsible for building on the firm’s residential property credentials and diverse portfolio of clients.

A property lawyer for more than 25 years and predominantly in the Glasgow area, her appointment reinforces Blackadders’ growth plans in the city and West of Scotland.

Lindsay Darroch, board member and head of property at Blackadders, said: “Investing in our residential property team is part of our strategic growth plan for Glasgow and that of the firm across Scotland.

“Karen is a highly-respected lawyer with extensive experience and having worked with Karen on a number of occasions over the years, I know our clients in the West Coast will be very well served. She is a great addition to the team.”

Ms Fulton graduated from Strathclyde University and trained at R & JA McCallum before joining Bird Semple in Glasgow and then becoming an associate with Taylor and Henderson in Saltcoats. In 2004, she rejoined Bird Semple where she went on to become a partner.

She said: “Blackadders has established an impressive presence in the region and I look forward to working with the team to further develop its foothold in the marketplace.

“Through its very personalised approach and depth of service, it has the feel of a small firm but one which is supported by a national backdrop with a breadth of expertise and experience across the company.”
