Faculty to host book launch and Lord Sumption lecture

The Faculty of Advocates is to host two significant events in the coming weeks, the launch of a new legal book and a lecture by a senior judicial figure.

The Reading Room will be the venue from 4:30pm on Friday, 16 October, for the Scottish Universities Law Institute’s event to mark the publication of Constitutional Law of Scotland by Alan Page.

Lord Reed will chair proceedings, including an introduction by the author and contributions by James Wolffe QC, Dean of Faculty, and Professor Adam Tomkins of the University of Glasgow.

Then, at 11:30am on Saturday, 14 November, UK Supreme Court Justice, Lord Sumption will give the Stair Society’s Annual Lecture, in the Mackenzie Building.

Lord Sumption is a noted medieval historian, and he will talk on “Anglo-Scottish Relations, 1290-1513, and the Beginnings of International Law”.
