In pictures… Aberdeen human rights conference a success
Lawyers Without Borders Student Division at Aberdeen University hosted its fifth annual human rights conference on Monday. The topic was “Refugee Protection: Are refugees afforded sufficient protection under human rights law?”
The conference was opened by student president Max Wiktorsson followed by a speech from student speaker Borys Biedron.
The event featured four panellists from SOAS, Glasgow, Oxford and Leiden universities who all presented on the topic, followed by a Q&A session moderated by Dr Daria Shapovalova of the Aberdeen Law School. More than 150 people attended the conference in the university’s Elphinstone Hall.
The speakers were: Dr John R Campbell, SOAS; Dr Caroline Nalule, Oxford University; Ms Sarah Craig, Glasgow University and Ms Mariana Gkliati, Leiden University.
