Lex Energy aims to help firms in need

Philip Argo

A new energy law firm has been established in Aberdeen.

Lex Energy has been co-founded by lawyers Philip Argo, Elaine Benton and Calum Crighton.

Mr Argo said that having a small team would help Lex, based in Rubislaw Terrace, offer services at a fraction of the cost of bigger firms.

He added that the firm would operate as an extension of larger clients’ in-house teams and that it aims to help smaller firms daunted by fees.

Mr Argo, who has worked for Talisman Energy and Expro, said firms down the supply chain often “don’t know when they need support” and only seek help after “something has gone wrong”.

He added: “They are afraid to go to law firms as they are worried about costs.”
