Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has announced a series of senior promotions including that of Philip Knight, who has been made a partner in its Edinburgh office.

Mr Knight heads up the firm’s litigation practice in Scotland and deals with a broad range of commercial, insolvency and real estate related disputes.

He is ranked in Chambers and acts for a wide range of organisations and individuals in a variety of disputes including a number of well-known blue chip hospitality, leisure and retail clients.

He has also recently become a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accredited evaluative mediator, one of only two solicitors in Scotland to hold such a qualification.

John Ralph, partner and head of WBD’s Edinburgh office, said: “We are delighted to welcome Philip to the partnership, which is just reward for the considerable contribution he is making to the success of the Edinburgh office, and congratulate him on both his promotion and accreditation.

“We are very proud of the talent within our firm, and the commitment those promoted have shown deserves to be recognised and celebrated.”

Mr Knight added: “I am delighted to have been promoted to partner at an exciting time of growth for WBD in Scotland. I have always been an advocate for mediation and looking forward to utilising my new skills as an RICS evaluative mediator.”
