Record £80,000 raised at Digby Brown Winter Dinner Dance

The event on Friday last week was held to raise funds for Spinal Injuries Scotland (SIS), its volunteers and the inspiring work they do for spinal injury survivors across Scotland.

It was the 16th year Digby Brown hosted the fundraiser, compered by top radio DJ Des Clarke along with a guest performance by world-class illusionist Colin Cloud.

Nathan Macqueen, an archery paralympian who sustained a spinal injury in a motorbike crash, also gave an emotional speech highlighting the great work done by SIS.

Thanks to the kindness of more than 540 guests the previous record total of £73,000 was surpassed.

Chris Stewart, partner and head of serious injury at Digby Brown, said: “It’s nothing short of humbling to witness the generosity of those who attend every year – but to then realise they’ve helped raise the highest amount ever at £80,400 is just astonishing.

“Every day we see first-hand the devastating impact a spinal cord injury can have and we know from speaking to our clients how grateful they are for the support offered by SIS.

“Spinal Injuries Scotland matters to hundreds across the nation and that’s why we’ve continued to work passionately alongside them for more than 20 years.

“Thank you to everyone who attended on the night, to Des Clarke for his energetic hosting and to everyone behind the scenes who made the night possible.”
