Scullion LAW has promoted to the directorship Kris Buchanan, head of the road traffic department, and Nigel Scullion, head of the criminal department.

Nicholas James Scullion, who established Scullion LAW in 1979, said: “These appointments significantly strengthen the top tier of Scullion LAW.”

Nicholas Jonathan Scullion, managing director, said: “Both promotions are very well deserved in recognition of all the hard work these individuals contribute to the continued success of the firm.”

Mr Buchanan joined Scullion LAW in 2011. He graduated from Strathclyde University and regularly appears in both the Sheriff and Justice of the Peace courts throughout Scotland.

He said: “I’m delighted that my hard work over the past seven years has been recognised by the firm. I think it shows a real commitment by Scullion LAW to training and developing young legal staff.

“Being in involved with court work over the last seven years, I have noticed the landscape of the criminal justice system change and with cuts to legal aid seemingly showing no signs of letting up, the outlook among many within the profession is bleak.

“But whilst many look to leave the profession, I see opportunity for those who are hungry and able to adapt. I look forward to progressing my own career within the firm, and helping continue to drive the firm forward during this time.”
