Shoosmiths has been appointed to two full-service lots in England, Wales and Scotland on the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) Wider Public Sector Legal Services Panel.

Shoosmiths’ partner Kirsten Hewson led the bid in conjunction with partners having public sector experience from across the firm, including within the Edinburgh office. The panel is for a period of three years with an option to extend by a further 12 months.

Ms Hewson said of the appointment: “We are delighted to have been appointed to Lots 2a and 2b of the CCS panel. Scoring full marks for ‘quality’ is a resounding endorsement for the client experience we provide and this appointment reflects well upon our public sector expertise and our ability to deliver a broad and deep full-service offering across both jurisdictions of England & Wales and Scotland.

“As a firm we have a long history of working in collaboration with organisations across the public sector to deliver high quality and value for money legal services, and through this panel we very much look forward to working with clients in this sector even more going forward.”

Janette Speed, head of Shoosmiths’ Edinburgh office, said: “As well as testament to the strength of the national team, this appointment reflects the quality of talent in our Scottish office who work seamlessly with our colleagues across the rest of the UK.

“Shoosmiths is a firm that believes strongly in the power of collaborative working - across the UK and its divisions and departments. It is great to have this commitment recognised through the CCS appointment and we look forward to working with more public sector organisations using the CCS framework.”
