Just a week after being named law firm of the year in The Herald Law Awards of Scotland, over 100 representatives of Scotland’s business community helped Shoosmiths’ team in Glasgow celebrate the official opening of their new c.5000sq ft of leased office space within The Garment Factory in the city’s innovation district on Wednesday night.

Attendees included senior business figures from Scotland’s real estate, corporate, litigation and employment sectors. Guests were welcomed to the event by Simon Boss, CEO of Shoosmiths and Barry McKeown, real estate partner and head of the Glasgow office.

Mr McKeown commented: “It was fantastic to welcome so many representatives of Scotland’s business community to our impressive new office space at The Garment Factory.

“Looking at our talented and growing 20-strong legal team in Glasgow I am very proud of the results we have already achieved. We are continuing to increase head count and with our team collaborating with colleagues in Edinburgh and throughout the UK, I am certain that Shoosmiths in Glasgow is well positioned for further growth in 2022, providing exceptional service and advice to our growing client base.”

Mr Boss added: “As underlined by our recent Law Firm of the Year accolade at the Law Awards of Scotland, Shoosmiths is a firm that continues to go from strength to strength. Our expanded footprint in Glasgow complements the firm’s long-established successful operation in Edinburgh and as a UK-wide law firm underlines our strategic aim to achieve further sustained growth in Scotland.”
