Thorntons adds new partner and associate following New Year promotions

Thorntons has increased its number of partners following an internal promotion.

Personal injury solicitor advocate Caroline Kelly, who is based in the Dundee office, becomes the firm’s 42nd partner.

Since joining the firm in 2005, Ms Kelly has worked exclusively in the area of personal injury and compensation claims, supporting clients who have been affected by illness or injury.

As well as being accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in personal injury law, Caroline is also a senior litigator with the association of personal injury lawyers.

Caroline is currently chair of the brain injury charity Headway Tayside.

She said: “The last ten years have gone by so quickly and I am delighted to mark this milestone by becoming partner.

“There is a huge amount of experience and knowledge within the personal injury team and I look forward to continuing my contributions to Thorntons at partner level.”

Elsewhere in the Dundee office, private client lawyer, Lynne Hopkins, has been promoted to associate.

Also in her tenth year of service with Thorntons, Ms Hopkins joined the firm as a trainee solicitor in 2005 and recently qualified as a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

She deals with a broad range of private client matters, including wills, powers of attorney and estate administration, with a particular interest in supporting elderly clients.
