Thorntons Solicitors donates iPads to Dundee school

Thorntons Solicitors recently visited Kingspark Primary School in Dundee to donate a batch of iPads which will help with weekly classroom activities.

The iPads were purchased through donations at the annual Sports Challenge Dinner in Dundee. The dinner raised a total of £35,000 with the proceeds being donated to Dundee charity The Yard and Children’s Aid.

The charity event, organised by Thorntons Solicitors and Thorntons Investment Management, took place in May at Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa. It saw 300 guests go head to head in Question of Sport-style quiz rounds while raising funds for local children’s charities.

The evening featured a premier sporting line-up with hosts, rugby legend Andy Nicol and Sky Sports’ pundit Alan McInally, as well as special guest, Rangers legend and former Scotland international Ally McCoist.

Donations from guests on the night meant 50 iPads could be purchased to support children with additional learning needs, including pupils from Kingspark School in Dundee.

Caroline Kelly, partner at Thorntons, said: “It’s been another fantastic year for Sports Challenge benefiting several local charities and projects. We were delighted to present them with a cheque this week and are already looking ahead to raising more funds at next year’s event.”
