The Edinburgh office of Shoosmiths has announced three new appointments within its real estate, litigation and employment teams.

With 18 years of legal expertise in real estate and property, including the past eight as a PSL in real estate, Mandy Soppitt has joined Shoosmiths as a PSL for the growing real estate team.

She will complement the UK-wide PSL team led by Peter Williams, dealing with precedent development, training and knowledge management.

Ailie McGowan will further strengthen Shoosmiths’ litigation team as a solicitor. A specialist in property damage, product liability, policy indemnity and breach of contract claims, her career credentials include having advised leading UK insurers and multinational businesses.

Eilidh Wood, whose previous training has included 12 months working in the legal team for the Council of Europe (Strasbourg) and who recently completed her traineeship, will develop her skills within the Edinburgh office’s employment team.

Janette Speed, real estate partner and head of Shoosmiths’ office in Edinburgh, said: “I am very confident that Mandy, Ailie and Eilidh will prove to be tremendous assets for both their respective teams and Shoosmiths’ growing client base.

“Moreover, I am sure they will enjoy working within a business culture where employees across our 11 UK-wide offices are empowered and have every opportunity to develop a rewarding and stimulating career.”
