SYLA: A History of Animal Protection in association with UK Centre for Animal Law - TONIGHT

Following the success of last year’s Introduction to Animal Law event, presented by the UK Centre for Animal Law (ALAW), the Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association has introduced a new series of events focusing on the law related to animal welfare in the UK in association with ALAW.

The first event in the three part series will focus on the history of animal law.

Attendees will hear from:

  • Mike Radford OBE – reader at the University of Aberdeen whose interests focus on law and the exercise of power in two distinct areas: government and public administration, and the treatment of animals.
  • Libby Anderson – former policy advisor for OneKind (formerly Advocates for Animals), and was previously the charity’s policy director from 2006 to 2015.
  • Hannah Moneagle – practising Scottish solicitor, law lecturer and the director of the Grampian Community Law Centre, which forms part of Robert Gordon University’s Law School.
