A rare charge of plagium

A man accused of stealing a toddler and trying to take another has been remanded in custody after being charged with plagium.
Emmanuel Chukwunedu is accused of targeting the children in two incidents in Dundee.
He allegedly attempted to take a four-year-old boy on Commercial Street on August 24 and is then alleged to have taken a two-year old boy in Fairmuir Park on October 26.
Plagium is the theft of a child below the age of puberty.
Sheriff George Way committed Chukwunedu for further examination after no plea was offered by his defence solicitor. He is to make another court appearance next week.
