Aamer Anwar subjected to racist abuse and death threats
Aamer Anwar has been subjected to racist abuse and death threats from Slavia Prague fans over his representation of Rangers’ Glen Kamara.
The Glasgow solicitor said the abuse has taken a toll on his mental health and he feels he is a “walking target”.
It comes after Uefa banned Ondrej Kydela for 10 matches for whispering “f***ing monkey” into Kamara’s ear at last month’s Europa League draw at Ibrox.
Mr Anwar told the Daily Record he felt “miserable”.
He said: “The non-stop tirade has been every minute over the last few days. It’s constant and almost feels like somebody is standing in front of me, shouting in my face screaming and punching me minute by minute and hour by hour.”
One message to the lawyer included a threat to burn his house down with his family inside.
Mr Anwar added: “I can’t just ignore it because I am having to go through material and delete abuse against my family including my mother and father in case they see it.
“When people are saying they are going to hunt you down and set fire to your house with your family in it, that is incitement and threats of violence.”
Police Scotland have been informed.
