Aberdein Considine has no time for blatherskites

The SLN team take their hats off today to Aberdeen Considine for their arresting advert in today’s Herald which uses the Scots word “blatherskite”: “A person who talks at great length without making much sense” – the last thing a client wants from their lawyers.
The OED entry for blatherskite states: “a Scots derogatory term adopted into American colloquial speech during the War of Independence from the Scottish song Maggie Lauder, by F. Semphill, which was popular with American troops.”
Last year saw the firm gain a presence in Glasgow and make a push into England with the acquisition of Wallers Solicitors in Newcastle.
