Addleshaw Goddard appointed to public sector legal services framework
Addleshaw Goddard has been appointed to Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) new £200 million Public Sector Legal Services Framework (RM6240), which will run for four years until 30th September 2026.
The framework can be used by all approved UK public sector bodies including: devolved administrations; the wider public sector including health and education bodies; local and regional government organisations; emergency services; and third sector organisations. The framework covers most or all areas of work that public sector bodies are likely to require external advice, including commercial, property, litigation, health and education.
Firms on the framework can be quickly appointed by public sector bodies at pre-procured rates without any legal requirement to run a further competition. Alternatively, public sector bodies in the UK can appoint firms following undertaking a mini-tender in accordance with the framework.
This is the third public sector framework that Addleshaw Goddard has been appointed to in the past 12 months, following on from appointments to CCS’s Rail Legal Services panel in March, and the UK government’s central legal panel, CCS’s Legal Services Framework, in December 2021.
The new framework replaces the Wider Public Sector Legal Services agreement under which Addleshaw Goddard was previously appointed. The firm has been appointed to five lots on the framework, including for the first time the lots relating to advice in Scotland
The successful appointments are:
- Lot 1 – Full Service Provision: a) England & Wales, and b) Scotland
- Lot 2 – General Service Provision: a) England & Wales, and b) Scotland
- Lot 3 – Transport Rail Legal Services
The AG team was led by partners Mike O’Connor, Andrew Pettinger, Suzanne Moir and Anna Heaton.
Mr O’Connor said: ” This is fantastic news and we are delighted to have extended our role on the Public Sector Legal Services Panel. We look forward to working closely with organisations across the UK over the next four years. As a firm we are committed to supporting the work of central and local government, and this appointment is testament to the track record of our market leading public sector team and to the breadth of our specialist knowledge across the public sector.”
CCS supports the Public Sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services. In 2021/22, CCS helped the public sector to achieve commercial benefits equal to £2.8 billion - supporting world-class public services that offer best value for taxpayers.
