Advocates appointed to tribunal legal panels
Junior counsel Susanne Tanner and Adrian Stalker have been appointed as legal members on two tribunals, the Homeowner Housing Panel and the Private Rented Housing Panel.
Ms Tanner worked as a solicitor before calling to the bar in 2000. She served three years as an advocate depute from 2011-14, and was a specialist prosecutor within the National Sexual Crimes Unit in the Crown Office. She is executive editor of Green’s Scottish Education Manual.
Mr Stalker has a special interest in housing law. He was the principal solicitor for Shelter Scotland from 1999 until 2006, and is the author of Evictions in Scotland. He joined the Faculty of Advocates in 2007, and chaired the Scottish government’s Repossessions Group, whose report led to legislative protection for homeowners at risk of repossession.
The tribunals appointments are part-time and Ms Tanner and Mr Stalker will continue in private practice.
