Advocates to the fore in GTC appointments

Advocates were to the fore in appointments by the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS).
With five vacancies for legal assessors, four have been filled by members of the Faculty of Advocates after a rigorous selection process.
The four are: Una Doherty, Gareth Jones, Bobby Frazer and Julie McKinlay.
Legal assessors act as independent legal advisers to disciplinary panels, and ensure that the proceedings are fair and transparent.
