Alan Innes joins Terra Firma Chambers
Terra Firma Chambers has announced that Alan Innes has joined the stable, having called to the bar today.
Prior to calling he was a senior associate within the real estate litigation team at Burness Paull. Having worked in real estate litigation since qualifying as a solicitor, he has gained significant experience in property disputes including those to do with commercial leases, development land, rural properties, energy projects and telecommunications sites. He also has a keen interest in related planning and environmental matters.
He is experienced in commercial and financial services litigation, particularly in relation to commercial contract, mortgage enforcement, and consumer credit issues.
He has appeared in the Sheriff Court, the First Tier Tribunal (Housing and Property Chamber) and the Lands Tribunal, as well as in arbitration proceedings. He was regularly involved in Court of Session cases as an instructing solicitor.
He said: “My background in property, planning and related disputes fits in very well with Terra Firma’s recognised strengths. I had always found Emma and her team fantastic to deal with as a solicitor, so I am delighted to be joining the stable. I look forward to working with them and the rest of TFC.”
Practice manager Emma Caskie-Potter said: “Not only does Alan’s experience align seamlessly with Terra Firma Chambers’ core areas, he shares our unwavering commitment to excellence and the provision of a client-orientated service.
“With his skill set and experience, coupled with a commercial, pragmatic approach, I have every confidence he will excel at the Bar and we are very pleased to welcome him to the Terra Firma team.”
