Alistair Clark QC made Senator of the College of Justice

The installation of Alistair Clark QC, as a Senator of the College of Justice has taken place, with Lady Dorrian, the Lord Justice Clerk, welcoming him to the bench with the title, Lord Clark.
Lady Dorrian, who presided over a 14-strong bench at the ceremony in the First Division courtroom in Parliament House, Edinburgh, said: “On behalf of the Bench, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you as a Senator of the College of Justice.
“Your distinguished career at the bar and your background in academia enable you to bring to the bench many qualities derived from that experience and your extensive practice in civil and commercial litigation. They will surely help you adapt to the challenges this new role will bring.
“We hope you find this new stage in your career both enjoyable and fulfilling.”
Lord Clark initially followed a career as a university lecturer, teaching mainly company and commercial law to LLB students and postgraduates. In 1994, he was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates, and took silk in 2008.
Garry Borland QC succeeds Lord Clark as chair of the Faculty’s International Committee.
