And finally… AI do
A wedding has been officiated by ChatGPT in the absence of a priest in what may be a world-first.
Colorado couple Reece Wiench and Deyton Truitt were expecting to have to cancel their wedding after the priest was unable to attend.
However, the bride’s father suggested using ChatGPT as Colorado law does not require a licensed official to officiate ceremonies.
ChatGPT apparently took some cajoling to take on the role, but then officiated the ceremony with the help of text-to-speech software which read its lines to assembled guests.
A video published by CBS News shows the AI-powered system welcoming guests to the wedding and thanking them for travelling from out-of-state.
