And finally… bad Samaritan
A motorist who tried to apprehend a suspected drunk driver on New Year’s Eve was found to have been drink-driving himself.
The 50-year-old attempted to prevent another motorist from leaving a lay-by in Qualicum Beach, a small town on Canada’s Vancouver Island, CTV News reports.
However, once police arrived on the scene, they established that the motorist who was attempting to intervene was the only one who was impaired.
Officers smelled alcohol on his breath and administered a breath test, which he failed.
The other motorist was found to be sober and had pulled over because they were struggling to drive in the dark.
