Commander, the latest ‘first pooch’, replaced Major, but has landed himself in hot water after reportedly also going on a biting spree. Among his victims were a Secret Service agent who required hospital care.

This is according to records obtained by conservative activist group Judicial Watch through a public information request. The records highlight an array of incidents where the young German shepherd was difficult to control, including an instance where Jill Biden, the first lady, was unable to prevent the dog from rushing at an officer.

The White House said Commander would be provided with more training. “They have been partnering with the Secret Service and executive residence staff on additional leashing protocols and training, as well as establishing designated areas for Commander to run and exercise,” Elizabeth Alexander, the communications director for the first lady, told CNN.
