And finally… chapeau
A New York lawyer who defended drug kingpin El Chapo and Jeffrey Epstein has launched a new career as a musician.
Mariel Colón Miró’s debut single La Abogada – Spanish for “The Lawyer” – tells the story of a young woman lawyer who falls in love with her client.
Announcing its release, she said: “Whoever knows me knows that since I was little I wanted to be a singer, it is a subject that I was passionate about.
“I have always been postponing many things, many stages in my life to finish my professional career as a lawyer.”
She explained that she previously had to miss an audition as a result of her work representing El Chapo, who was jailed for life in the US in 2019.
Ms Colón Miró added: “I think El Chapo is proud of seeing me as an artist.”
