And finally… churning
The question of who invented butter chicken is to be resolved by an Indian court in a case which has already racked up over €200,000 in legal fees.
The Delhi High Court is hearing a case brought by the owners of Delhi restaurant Moti Mahal against the Daryaganj restaurant chain amid rival claims over the creation of the dish.
The legal battle is underpinned with family drama, as the two businesses are owned by the grandsons of two men who ran a restaurant together for decades, The World reports.
Monish Gujral, owner of Moti Mahal, claims that his grandfather Kundan Lal Gujral invented butter chicken – while Daryaganj co-founder Raghay Jaggi claims it’s his grandfather, Kundan Lal Jaggi, who invented it.
The case returns to Delhi High Court in May.
