And finally… deal or no deal
The former host of TV’s Deal Or No Deal has assured Lloyds Banking Group that they “can’t beat me on deep pockets” as he continues to seek £300 million from the bank, more than triple his original claim.
Noel Edmonds is now in a similar situation to his former contestants, who tried to win as much money as possible from “The Banker”.
Mr Edmonds recently secured a “major litigation funder” in his high-profile lawsuit against Lloyds, which stems from a fraud scandal at HBOS Reading that affected more than 60 small business owners.
He raised his original claim of £73 million to £300 million in July, and has said the money would cover losses relating to the collapse of his business Unique Group and the “public humiliation” he suffered.
He told the Mail on Sunday: “HBOS had robbed me of my marriage, my family, my businesses, my longstanding friend and business partner, my income, my investments, my self-respect, my reputation, my privacy, my physical and mental health. It cost me my security, my image rights, my collection of classic cars – and very nearly my life.”
