The owner of the doll was arrested in the Mexican city of Monclova after reports that he was using Chucky and a real knife to scare people and ask them for money.

Photos taken by local media, which later went viral on social media, show that both the man and the doll itself were handcuffed and taken to the police station, El Universal reports.

Initial reports said both the man, Carlos N., and Chucky had been charged with disturbing the order and putting people’s safety at risk.

Monclova Police said the doll had been cuffed on the encouragement of local media and the officer who did so had been sanctioned.
