And finally… Freaky Friday
A woman who impersonated her teenage daughter to sit through an entire day of school has been arrested.
Casey Garcia, 30, said she infiltrated her 13-year-old daughter’s middle school in Texas to make a point about school security.
She used her daughter’s ID number to get past security and nobody realised her subterfuge until the last class of the day.
In a YouTube video recounting the day, Garcia said she was caught when a teacher asked her to stay after class.
“She looked at me and she said ‘You’re not Julie’,” Garcia said. “‘No, I’m not.’ I took off my mask, I took off my glasses, and I said, ‘No, I’m not Julie. I’m Julie’s mom.’”
Garcia was arrested on one count each of criminal trespass and tampering with government records, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said she was also arrested on an unrelated traffic warrant.
