And finally… froggy style
Hundreds of frogs known for their illegal use as an aphrodisiac have been seized by police in Peru.
Some 390 frogs were recovered by police after they pulled over a truck heading from Lake Titicaca to capital Lima, France24 reports.
The Lake Titicaca frog, Telmatobius culeus – sometimes also known as the “Titicaca scrotum frog” because of its loose skin – is used to make a traditional medicine dubbed the “Viagra of the Incas”.
However, the frog is endangered and its population size declined by more than 80 per cent from 1990 to 2004.
Peru last year became the first South American country to recognise wildlife trafficking as a form of organised crime.
Wildlife traffickers can face up to five years’ imprisonment and fines equivalent to more than 50 times the minimum wage.
