And finally… ground to a halt
Hundreds of people were evacuated from Birmingham’s main train station yesterday after the discovery of a “grenade” – which turned out to be a cannabis grinder.
The Birmingham New Street station was evacuated and train services halted after the “suspicious item” was discovered on a platform.
The station was closed for nearly two hours before British Transport Police (BTP) gave the all-clear, BirminghamLive reports.
A spokesperson for BTP said: “The item has now been assessed and deemed non-suspicious. It’s a cannabis grinder designed to resemble a hand grenade.”
The owner of the novelty grinder does not appear to have come forward to claim the lost item.
