And finally… law and otter
A man has been arrested after trying to smuggle a Prairie dog and two otters onto a plane in his underwear.
The 22-year-old Taiwanese man was stopped on suspicion of concealing live animals in his clothing after he passed through an X-ray machine at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok.
Border officials subsequently found three animals – including the one pictured – in his underwear, Thaiger reports.
Prairie dogs and Asian small-clawed otters are both protected animals in Thailand.
The man now faces charges under Thai animal protection and customs laws, with some charges carrying penalties of up to 10 years’ imprisonment.
