And finally… loot drop
Nearly 100 brand-new games consoles have been handed to gun owners in exchange for their weapons as part of a US public safety initiative.
Charity NOLA GROWN, working in partnership with New Orleans City Council, offered free PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles in exchange for handguns and other firearms.
A total of 94 firearms were collected over three exchange events hosted over the past six months, The Independent reports.
A 50-year-old woman said she had chosen to swap her handgun for a PlayStation 5, worth about $500, for her eight grandchildren to use.
“With all the grandkids and all the violence that they got going on, it’s time to get it up off the street,” she said.
She added: “[The PlayStation is] going to be for all of them to share when they come to the house.”
