And finally… man ploughs car through zombie nerds and Ireland’s dumbest criminal

A Californian man is facing criminal charges after he drove his car through a crowd of “zombies”, injuring a woman.

Matthew Pocci, 48, is to be charged with reckless driving causing bodily injury after he ploughed his car into the zombie walk at the Comic Con event in San Diego because his children became frightened.

Police said he sounded the horn as he drove forward slowly but some of the pedestrians surrounded his car and smashed the windscreen.

Mr Pocci, who is deaf, then sped away and in doing so knocked over a 64-year-old woman who got caught under the car.

He is to sue the city, saying police did not adequately notify people of the zombie walk.

A man has been described as “Ireland’s dumbest criminal” after he threw a brick at a car window only for it to bounce back and thwack him in the face – knocking him out cold.

The man, from Drogheda, about 35 miles north of Dublin was discovered lying in a pool of his own blood by the owner of the car, Gerry Brady.

Mr Brady told the Irish Independent: “He pulled himself up and said he wanted €50 for a taxi.

“I said ‘Not a chance, I’ve to pay for a new window mate’, that’s when he leaned in and told me he’d burn me out of the pub.”

The incompetent crook told Mr Brady: “I see you, I know you. I’ll burn you out. I’ll tell the gardas you beat me up. I’ll go to my solicitor.”

Mr Brady said: “When the Gardaí picked him up, he started claiming that I attacked him. He was still telling them that in the station when I came in with the footage of him getting knocked out by his own brick.

“You should have heard the garda laughing when they saw the video. They were in stitches. Credit to them, they were straight out when we called and found the guy within minutes.”
