And finally… no dog in the fight
A man who set his dog on police officers and ordered it to “kill” was left disappointed after the Staffordshire bull terrier submitted instead to being petted by them.
Michael Horne, from Kinross, was described by a judge as “imbecilic” after he made death threats to officers and tried to attack them, The Courier reports.
His would-be canine accomplice wandered over to the officers “in a friendly manner” and was put into the police van without a fuss, Perth Sheriff Court was told.
Though Mr Horne continued to threaten officers and charged at them, he eventually surrendered after more officers arrived on the scene.
The 23-year-old admitted charges of acting in a threatening or abusive manner; shouting, swearing and issuing violent threats; and directing a dog to attack officers.
