Tayabu Eliazu, 35, and Assan Gariba, 24, allegedly dispensed mob justice after a brief interaction with another man, Abubakr Tanko, in Kasseh, Ghana.

They both told police that their penises later reappeared, though each insisted they were not as substantial in varying respects, Graphic Online reports.

A police spokesperson said: “We told them that we are not medical officers, and so we can’t determine if what they are saying is true.

“For now, we will keep them until the victim is discharged [from hospital] for interrogations to ascertain the facts before knowing our next step of action.”
