And finally… The Lord works in mysterious ways

A police hunt for a stolen statue of Jesus was called off when the statue reappeared outside the religious gift shop it was stolen from – complete with a makeover and fresh coat of paint for All Saints Day.

The statue was reported stolen from the shop in Connecticut but made a miraculous reappearance four days later.

Midge Saglimbene, one of the owners of the shop in the town of Monroe, had reported the statue missing to police.

She received the statue, which had been on display outside the store, six months ago from a woman who was moving and did not have space for Jesus in her life anymore.

“There’s a friend that works here sometimes and she was going down Route 25 after Mass,” she told ABC News.

“She looked over on her way home and noticed that statue wasn’t there and called me.

“The same friend was going down the road a few days later and she looked over and the statue was there.”

The chipped statue had been transformed by the mystery do-gooder, who didn’t leave a note.

“Out of the goodness of their heart they redid the whole statue,” she added. “I just stood in front of it and just said, ‘thank you whoever this was, I will say a prayer for you.’”
