The University of Aberdeen’s cat has been named as one of Europe’s top university mascots by the website Study.EU.
Snow-white tomcat Buttons, a local celebrity, is known to frequent the philosophy department.
Buttons ran for election to the rectorship this year on the ticket of “Cats not bureaucrats”, but was discounted on a technicality; namely that of being a cat.
However, one anonymous insider cited rumours of Russian interference.
History student and Buttons’ former campaign manager Alex Kither said: “He spends a lot of his time on campus, trying to get food and attention from anyone who passes him.”
