Anderson Strathern appoints Jonathan Guy as head of insurance and H&S unit
Anderson Strathern has appointed partner Jonathan Guy as the new head of its expanded insurance and health & safety unit.
Mr Guy, a former procurator fiscal depute, will lead the team whose insurance, public sector and private client base includes acting for Co-operative Insurance for more than 30 years as well as other large UK insurers and loss adjusters and acting for UK and Scottish government departments, such as the Scottish Prison Service.
The insurance and health & safety unit is based within the firm’s dispute resolution department, which is announcing seven solicitor promotions, including Dominic Scullion from senior solicitor to associate and Michael Higgins from solicitor to senior solicitor.
Mr Guy said: “I am very excited about the prospect of leading our expanded Insurance and Health & Safety Unit.
“The client base is growing all the time and our work for key insurers and clients such as the Scottish Prison Service and the Health and Safety Executive is testament to our expertise.”
Managing partner Murray McCall added: “Jonathan has a fantastic reputation as a litigator and I am delighted that he has been appointed as Head of the Insurance and Health & Safety Unit.
“His background as a prosecutor with the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, in health and safety and business crime along with his skilled and robust defence of our clients’ interests means the unit will go from strength to strength under his leadership.”
