Anderson Strathern lawyer accredited by Law Society as planning law specialist
Sarah Baillie of Anderson Strathern has joined a select group of only 12 other Law Society of Scotland accredited specialists in planning law.
Anderson Strathern is one of only two law firms in Scotland to have two accredited specialists in planning.
Ms Baillie has specialised in planning law since first joining the firm when she qualified twelve years ago.
She is also one of only a few solicitors in the UK who is also a qualified planner with chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
She has particular experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, guiding and advising on the complex consenting and delivery process for some of Scotland’s largest development, regeneration and infrastructure projects.
Ms Baillie has also spent time working in London advising on major mixed use schemes such as the London 2012 Olympic Park.
Along with fellow planning law accredited specialist, Alastair McKie, partner and head of planning and environment at Anderson Strathern, the pair are ranked as leading planning lawyers in Scotland by legal directories Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500.
Ms Baillie said: “Clients have to be confident in the specialist technical advice they are given.
“I’m delighted both personally and professionally to be the recipient of such a prestigious accreditation and I’d like to thank Anderson Strathern for its support in helping me achieve this.”
