Anderson Strathern has announced the appointment of two new partners and a series of internal promotions as it builds on strong financial performance in 2017. The partner appointments are being made in the rural and real estate practices, while the promotions are taking place across the firm’s commercial, private client and public sector teams.Fiona McKinnon moves up to partner level in the firm’s commercial real estate practice and is a specialist in retail, development and investment work, with a particular focus on the petroleum sector and regeneration projects. Robin Beattie becomes a partner in the firm’s rural land and business team. Mr Beattie, who advises a number of major landowners across Scotland, specialises in the acquisition, sale and management of estates, farms, forestry, development sites, renewable energy projects, sporting rights and minerals.
The firm has also made nine internal solicitor promotions including two new senior associates, Ann-Marie Chalmers (dispute resolution), Lesley Fitzgerald (commercial real estate); one new associate, David Coutts (dispute resolution – family law); and five new senior solicitors, Kirsty Jamieson (corporate), Russell Laughland (private client), Robert McNab (private client), Stephen Moffat (dispute resolution) and Sophia Warriner-Gallyer (commercial real estate).
Murray McCall, who was recently reappointed as the firm’s managing partner, said: “After investing in our people, mergers, technology and lateral hires last year, we’re continuing to invest in our team through internal promotions and more lateral hires in 2017 and it’s encouraging to see the growth coming through as we approach the end of the year.”
