Angela Constance becomes new justice secretary
Angela Constance has been named as Scotland’s new justice secretary in First Minister Humza Yousaf’s cabinet.
Ms Constance replaces Keith Brown, who was sacked from the role. Mr Brown, who had succeeded Mr Yousaf in the post, presided over the continued decline of Scotland’s legal aid system.
Mr Yousaf said his “ambitious team” reflected his priorities of “tackling child poverty, improving public services and building a fairer, greener economy”.
Labour said it cemented “the SNP’s new status as a deeply divided party” that was led by “B-rate politicians”.
