Army officer jailed for dating app rape and sexual assault

A British Army officer who raped and sexually assaulted a woman after meeting her on a dating app has been jailed.
Calum MacGregor was convicted on 30 January 2025 following a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh. The 30-year-old left the victim injured by attacking her at her home in December 2021, shortly after matching with her on Hinge.
He tried to claim that any sexual contact had been consensual but was found guilty following three days of evidence. On 27 February 2025, at the High Court in Edinburgh, MacGregor was sentenced to four years and six months in custody.
His name has been added to the sex offenders register indefinitely.
