Arnot Manderson welcomes Gavin Dingley and Shaun McPhee
Arnot Manderson Advocates has welcomed Gavin Dingley and Shaun McPhee to the stable following their admission to the Faculty of Advocates.
Mr Dingley is now a dual-qualified advocate and barrister, holding chambers in Edinburgh and in London with Five Paper. His practice encompasses international commercial litigation, public and regulatory law.
His commercial practice has a focus on international commercial arbitration, cross border litigation and related court applications. He has experience handling a range of court applications related to arbitration, including anti-suit injunctions, freezing orders or interim relief in support of arbitration or other related commercial proceedings.
Mr McPhee specialises in public law and personal injury. As a trainee then solicitor with a law centre, he gained broad experience in social welfare law – especially housing and judicial review. After clerking at the Constitutional Court of South Africa, he joined the litigation team of a local authority, where he worked across functions including vulnerable adults, criminal justice, employment, and licensing.
During devilling, he further specialised in public law, with a focus on education, prisons, and social work, often involving equality and human rights issues. He also gained broad experience in personal injury, including abuse, employers’ liability, and medical negligence.
Andrew Sutherland, practice manager at Arnot Manderson Advocates, said: “We are delighted to welcome Gavin and Shaun to the Stable today. With these new Counsel in our ranks we continue to boast an enviably strong and vibrant presence at the junior end of the bar.
“Our new members each have invaluable experience in Scotland’s highest courts and beyond and the complete range of work they undertake makes them a perfect fit for our stable.”
