Arnot Manderson welcomes two new advocates
Arnot Manderson has welcomed Simon Crabb and Paul Harvey to the stable following their admission to the Faculty of Advocates today.
Before calling at the Bar, Simon worked for over four years in Colombia with threatened human rights lawyers providing legal advice and training on international justice, with Peace Brigades International and latterly as Legal Advisor and Head of Mission for Lawyers without Borders Canada. During that time, he gained significant experience in the field of human rights law. Prior to his time in Colombia he served as a Procurator Fiscal Depute for the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service where he honed his skills in the criminal courts and as a court lawyer generally.
Paul calls to the Scottish Bar having been a member of the Bar of England and Wales since 2013.He remains an associate (door)tenant at Doughty Street Chambers, London. Paul also spent more than a decade in Strasbourg working as a Lawyer in the Registry of the European Court of Human Rights in a variety of roles, including drafting decisions and judgments against the UK and other Contracting States.
Simon and Paul share a strong expertise in public law with Paul having worked for a time with the Scottish Government Legal Directorate. Paul also brings a specialist expertise in commercial cases, and he and Simon are both highly regarded for their expertise in criminal law, extradition work, immigration matters and international law. Simon also has a keen interest in personal injury and professional negligence matters.
