Ashurst announces local charity partnership with Glasgow’s Golden Generation

Ashurst has announced a new local charity partnership between the firm’s Glasgow office and Glasgow’s Golden Generation.

Glasgow’s Golden Generation, previously Glasgow Old People’s Welfare Association, was founded in 1948 and over the past 70 years has been supporting the elderly in Glasgow to live as independent a life as possible through welfare services, day care centres and weekly clubs.

Employees at Ashurst Glasgow were given the opportunity to nominate local charities before participating in an office-wide vote to determine which would be adopted as charity partner.

Mike Polson, managing partner at Ashurst’s Glasgow office, said: “Ashurst globally has a very strong commitment to support corporate responsibility and pro bono activity. Our people in Glasgow share this commitment and are actively engaged in a wide range of CR activity.

“Everyone at Ashurst Glasgow was really impressed by Glasgow’s Golden Generation and the help and support they provide.

“Thanks to this important partnership, we have the opportunity to come together, raise awareness, funds and to give our time to help elderly citizens who are suffering from loneliness and isolation. We look forward to working closely with Glasgow’s Golden Generation, and supporting the work being done by this well regarded charity.”
